In Detail
Why wallabag on Your Own Server?
Since Pocket shut down, many people are looking for a new home for their reading list. wallabag is open source, light on resources and, on your own server, belongs to nobody but you.
wallabag fetches the text of an article without ads, menus and pop-ups and stores it with its images on your server. You read in the browser, in the Android and iOS apps, or export articles as EPUB or PDF for your e-reader; tags, highlights and annotations help you stay organised. The panel installs wallabag, creates your account with the username you chose and a generated password as super admin, and deactivates the default account that ships with the image. Public registration is switched off. With a domain wallabag runs on HTTPS, without one via the IP address; you can add the domain later in the panel. As little as 512 MB of RAM is enough.
