In Detail
Why SilverBullet on Your Own Server?
Your notes stay plain Markdown files on your server – no proprietary format, no subscription. SilverBullet is open source and so lightweight that it fits even the smallest package.
SilverBullet is a browser-based notes tool that stores every page as a Markdown file. You connect pages with [[links]], backlinks show where a page is mentioned, and with queries, templates and your own scripts you build overviews such as task lists or project pages. The panel installs SilverBullet behind a login: you choose the username in the install form, and the panel generates the password. Your notes live in their own data directory on the server, which you can back up over SSH or edit with other tools. With a domain you reach SilverBullet on HTTPS, without one via the IP address; you can add the domain later in the panel. As little as 256 MB of RAM is enough.
