In Detail

Why NocoDB on Your Own Server?

Customer lists, inventory or project data don’t have to live in someone else’s cloud. With NocoDB on your server in Frankfurt they stay with you, and you share CPU and RAM with nobody.

NocoDB shows data as tables and adds further views such as form, kanban, gallery and calendar. Columns can be links to other tables, attachments, formulas or select lists, and for every table NocoDB provides a REST API for your own scripts and automations. The panel installs NocoDB and creates your account with your e-mail address and a generated password directly as super admin – so nobody else can grab the first account. Telemetry is switched off, and your data lives in its own data directory on the server. With a domain NocoDB runs on HTTPS, without one via the IP address; you can add the domain later in the panel. As admin, you invite more people to your bases.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most important questions

Is NocoDB an alternative to Airtable?
For many uses, yes: tables with links, forms, kanban and gallery, sharing and an API. You bring in existing data via CSV or Excel import.
Can I access NocoDB via API?
Yes. Every table has REST endpoints, and you create API tokens in your account. That way you connect NocoDB to scripts or automation tools such as n8n.
Where is my data stored?
In its own data directory on your server in Frankfurt. You back it up with the server backups in the panel or over SSH.
How many resources does NocoDB need?
At least 1 GB of RAM and 5 GB of storage. For large tables, many attachments or several simultaneous users, choose a larger package.
