Wofür eignet sich ein Storage Server?
Für alles, was viel Speicherplatz braucht: Backups und Archive, Medienbibliotheken, eine eigene Cloud (z. B. Nextcloud), NAS-Ersatz oder die Aufbewahrung von Kamera-Aufzeichnungen.
Da du vollen Root-Zugriff hast, entscheidest du selbst, welche Software darauf läuft.
Habe ich vollen Root-Zugriff?
Ja. Ein Storage Server ist ein echter KVM-Server mit vollem Root-Zugriff — kein verwalteter Backup-Dienst. Du installierst dein eigenes Betriebssystem und verwaltest den Server komplett selbst.
Welche Betriebssysteme kann ich installieren?
Zur Auswahl stehen u. a. Debian, Ubuntu, AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, Arch Linux und Windows Server. Zusätzlich kannst du aus unserem ISO-Pool installieren oder ein eigenes ISO hochladen.
HDD oder NVMe — wie schnell ist der Speicher?
Storage Server sind auf maximale Kapazität pro Euro ausgelegt und nutzen großen HDD-Speicher. Für IOPS-intensive Anwendungen wie Datenbanken oder Gameserver empfehlen wir unsere NVMe-Rootserver — beide lassen sich per privatem VLAN kombinieren.
Wie viel Traffic ist enthalten?
Der Traffic läuft nach dem Fair-Use-Prinzip über eine 2 Gbit/s-Anbindung (shared). Innerhalb deines privaten VLANs — etwa zwischen Storage Server und vServer — gibt es kein Traffic-Limit.
Ist DDoS-Schutz enthalten?
Ja, alle Storage Server sind durch unseren permanenten DDoS-Schutz (ARBOR, Layer 3/4) geschützt — ohne Aufpreis.
Wie schnell ist mein Storage Server verfügbar?
Direkt nach Zahlungseingang wird dein Storage Server automatisch bereitgestellt — typischerweise in unter 10 Minuten.
Wie funktioniert die Prepaid-Abrechnung?
Du lädst Guthaben auf und bezahlst monatlich im Voraus — ohne Vertragslaufzeit und ohne automatische Verlängerung. Ist das Guthaben aufgebraucht, pausiert der Server, bis du wieder auflädst. Es muss nichts gekündigt werden.
Kann ich den Storage Server mit meinen anderen Servern vernetzen?
Ja. Über isolierte VXLAN-VLANs verbindest du deine Storage Server direkt mit deinen vServern — kostenlos, unbegrenzt und ohne Traffic-Limit im internen Netz. Ideal als Backup-Ziel für deine bestehenden Server.
