In Detail
Why JupyterLab on Your Own Server?
Your notebooks run around the clock on a server in Frankfurt, even when your computer is off. You reach them from any device with a browser, and data and code stay on your server.
JupyterLab is the open-source workspace of the Jupyter project for notebooks, code, terminal and files in the browser. The panel installs the “scipy-notebook” image, which comes with Python and NumPy, pandas, Matplotlib, SciPy and scikit-learn already set up. You log in with a token – that is the generated password you retrieve in the panel; without the token nobody gets into the interface. Your notebooks belong in the “work” folder, which lives in its own volume and survives an app update. If you like, the panel sets up your domain with HTTPS, also later on. The app requires at least 1 GB of RAM; our root servers have no graphics card, so computations run on the CPU cores.
