In Detail

Why Coolify on Your Own Server?

Instead of paying per app, database or team member, you run as many projects as your server can carry. Coolify is open source; applications and data live on your server in Frankfurt.

Coolify is a self-hosted platform that builds applications from a Git repository and runs them as containers – for Node.js, PHP, Python, static sites, Dockerfiles or Docker Compose projects. You create databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL or Redis in a few clicks, and Coolify handles domains and HTTPS certificates for your apps through its own proxy. The panel installs Coolify and creates your admin account with user name and e-mail address; you see the password in the panel afterwards. Because Coolify uses ports 80 and 443 for its apps, it works best on a server of its own. Builds need compute and space, so the app requires at least 2 GB RAM and 30 GB storage.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most important questions

Can I install other one-click apps next to Coolify?
Coolify uses ports 80 and 443 for the apps it manages. Panel apps that need these ports themselves (such as WordPress or Nextcloud) therefore do not fit on the same server. Other services are easiest to start directly in Coolify.
Which applications can Coolify deploy?
Anything that runs as a container: projects with a Dockerfile or Docker Compose, common languages via automatic builds, static sites and databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB or Redis.
How do my apps get a domain with HTTPS?
You enter the domain for the app in Coolify and point it to your server via DNS. Coolify requests the certificate from Let’s Encrypt.
How much power does Coolify need?
Coolify itself requires at least 2 GB RAM and 30 GB storage. How much more you need depends on your apps and builds – several projects run more comfortably on a larger package.
