In Detail
Why Satisfactory on Your Own Server?
Without your own server the session ends as soon as the host closes the game. On your root server the save lives centrally, and with 8 GB of RAM or more even a growing factory has room.
On first start the server downloads the Satisfactory dedicated server software via SteamCMD, around 8 GB – so the install takes a little longer. The panel then claims the server for you automatically: it sets the server name from the form and a generated admin password, so nobody else can take over the fresh server. In the game you add the server in the Server Manager with its IP address and log in with that password; there you create the world and set a player password if you want one. You choose the maximum number of players during the install. There is no domain or HTTPS – you connect via the IP and port 7777. Every player needs their own copy of Satisfactory. Plan for at least 8 GB of RAM and 25 GB of storage.
