In Detail
Why Enshrouded on Your Own Server?
In regular co-op the world is only open while the host plays. With your own server anyone in the group can jump in when they have time, and your progress lives centrally on your root server.
The panel sets up the Enshrouded server with the server name and player count from the install form; up to 16 players are possible. On first start it downloads the dedicated server software via SteamCMD, around 3 GB; since it only exists for Windows, it runs under Wine on the Linux server. Access is protected by a server password that the panel generates and shows you there – only share it with your fellow players. In the game you find the server via “Join Game” and a search for its name. Saves live in their own volume and survive an app update. There is no domain or HTTPS; the game uses ports 15636 and 15637 (UDP). Every player needs Enshrouded themselves; plan for at least 8 GB of RAM.
