In Detail
Why Jellyfin on Your Own Server?
Jellyfin is completely free, with no subscription and no vendor account. Your library lives on your server and is reachable on the go without your computer at home having to run.
Jellyfin is a free media server: it organises your films, series and music, fetches covers and descriptions and streams to the Jellyfin apps for Android, iOS, smart TVs and the browser. The panel installs Jellyfin, creates the admin user and, if you like, sets up your domain with HTTPS. You then upload your media to the server via SFTP or rsync. Good to know: the servers have no graphics card, so converting videos (transcoding) runs on the CPU. Playback is smoothest when your files are in a format the player can play directly. Please only use Jellyfin for media you hold the rights to.
