WireGuard or OpenVPN — which is better?
WireGuard is more modern, faster and easier to set up. It uses state-of-the-art cryptography and has significantly less code than OpenVPN, reducing the attack surface. For most use cases we recommend WireGuard. OpenVPN is more mature and offers more configuration options for complex setups.
How many devices can I connect simultaneously?
There is no technical limit. You can create as many WireGuard peers or OpenVPN clients as you like. With the smallest package (2 GB RAM) you can easily connect 20+ devices simultaneously.
Can I use the VPN server as an ad blocker?
Yes. Install Pi-hole or AdGuard Home on the same server and route your VPN DNS traffic through it. This blocks ads and trackers at network level — on all connected devices simultaneously.
Does Prepaid-Host store logs of my VPN traffic?
No. We have no access to your VPN traffic and do not store any connection logs. You have full root access and control whether and which logs your VPN server writes.
