the year is drawing to a close and we want to thank you sincerely for the great collaboration this business year.
Revenue Year-over-Year
This year we grew the company's revenue by 57% compared to the previous business year, clearly exceeding both our own expectations and forecasts.
This year we took over an entire rack from our colocation partner, adapted it to our needs, and equipped it with several new AMD EPYC systems.
Statistics
In February and March we saw a general drop in B2C product sales, which can be traced back to the war and its economic damage. Despite the turbulent year, we were able to double product sales in November.
Our domain portfolio has grown by around 225% since the start of the business year and breaks down into the following TLDs.
Support requests also rose along with our customer numbers this year, and since the start of the business year we've successfully handled around 1,950 tickets.
As expected, payments continue to be dominated by PayPal, but Paysafecard has also gained popularity thanks to the prepaid factor we offer.
Goals Set for 2022
Taking Over the Rack
As already mentioned, we took over an entire rack from one of our colocation partners, then adapted it to our needs and equipped it with new hardware. This was a major step following our move to Maincubes in 2020, and thus also a preparatory measure for all the adjustments to our infrastructure.
Expanding Our Host Systems and Infrastructure
The new AMD EPYC host systems also meant we had to expand our existing infrastructure, and in some cases replan and replace it entirely. This year we were already able to replace inefficient dual Intel Xeon E5 2680 v2 systems with powerful EPYC systems. In parallel, we also rolled out an expanded monitoring system to detect and resolve outages and anomalies early.
Expanding Our Product Range
As planned, we were able to expand our range of web servers, game servers, and root servers. This was due in part to the expansion of our host systems, but also to the general restructuring of our infrastructure.
Our Goals for 2023
For the coming year too, we plan to continue expanding and adapting our services to offer the best possible user experience.
Expanding the Game Server Selection and Web Interface
One of our goals is to expand our game server offering and make more games available to choose from. We will also extend the web interface with useful features, such as rDNS and the one-click installer, to simplify server management.
A Larger Backup Server for Customer Backups
To keep our focus on the security of our customers' data, we will build a larger backup server for customer servers so that every server is backed up additionally and independently of customers' own backups. The design of our web interface will also be renewed to further improve the user experience.
Steady Expansion of the Ceph Cluster
We're also planning further expansion of our cluster next year, as we continue to expect this kind of steady growth in our customer base. Likewise, the last dual Intel Xeon E5 2680 v2 systems are to be replaced with more powerful EPYC systems.
