What you can monitor
Whatever layer of your infrastructure you want to protect – from a simple "is the site up?" to a deep functional check:
- Websites & APIs: status code, response time and – this is the difference – the actual HTML body. With keyword & content matching you check whether "Add to cart" is really there, or make a "MySQL Error" message trigger an alert. Regex and JSON path are supported too.
- Certificates & domains: daily checks of the remaining SSL lifetime and the trust chain, plus domain expiry – you're warned before anything runs out.
- Cron jobs & backups (heartbeat): your script pings a URL at the end of a successful run. If the ping doesn't arrive, we raise the alarm – even when the server itself is still responding.
- Server services: ping, DNS, SMTP, IMAP/POP, FTP and SSH – port checks all the way to a real login with credentials.
Consensus from 7 European locations – in every plan
The most common reason people eventually ignore monitoring is false alarms at 3 a.m. That's why we check every service simultaneously from 7 European locations: Falkenstein and Nuremberg (DE), Prague (CZ), Helsinki (FI), Milan (IT), Warsaw (PL) and Zurich (CH). An alert only fires once the majority of locations independently confirm an outage – local network hiccups of a single probe are filtered out. These consensus checks are included in every plan, not just the large ones.
